Pipeline monitoring system to detect leakages or system failure

Gas Safe works closely with a consultancy organisation who are able to offer two levels of pipeline monitoring:

1. AutoGEMS (Gas Efficiency Management System)

This is a fully automated 'real time' computerised gas management and data logging system. It has been developed to monitor gas consumption and to analyse the consumption for wastage by identifying gas leaks and excessive flow.

Data is gathered over a 24 hour period and compiled into daily spreadsheet reports which are e-mailed to end users. System efficiency reports can identify items for urgent action by sending an alert via text messaging.

Identification of gas wastage will result in cost reduction, it will also have an environmental impact by ensuring that only the optimum amount of gas is being safely used.

2. AutoGEMS – Safety

This package uses all the features of AutoGEMS monitoring but also has the ability to link gas usage to standard conditions. Should gas usage exceed these conditions AutoGEMS Safety has the functionality to report the fault and / or close the system down.

For example, should a nitrogen pipeline develop a leak during or outside normal working hours, AutoGEMS Safety will either report the leak via text message or isolate the system to prevent further build up of gas.

Identification of gas leakage will result in a safer working environment; it will also have an environmental impact by ensuring gases are not being leaked into the atmosphere
